A draw with Bordeaux at the weekend finally ended PSG’s record-breaking start to the season. Now they travel to Strasbourg, a side performing above expectations and one that beat the French champions 2-1 in this Ligue 1 (L1) fixture last season.
Strasbourg’s 1-0 loss to Nîmes in their previous home outing punctured a run of eight consecutive L1 home matches where they found the net, and was only their second home loss of the season (W3, D2, L2).
Like that defeat, the hosts’ recent games have been relatively low-scoring affairs, with four of their last five league matches featuring under 2.5 goals – the one exception being an impressive 4-1 away win at Rennes last week.
Players to watch: Strasbourg’s league top scorer Lebo Mothiba has seven goals this campaign. Meanwhile Neymar’s (PSG) goal against Bordeaux at the weekend made it 30 goals in just 32 league appearances – a L1 best across the past 45 seasons.
Stat attack: Strasbourg have registered only three L1 clean sheets (from a possible 15) this season.
Strasbourg wants to follow! After his very good performance in Rennes (4-1), the RCSA is waiting for PSG at the Meinau. For this meeting, Thierry Laurey summons the same 19 players as Sunday, to which he adds Moataz Zemzemi. Mohamed Simakan, Abdallah Ndour, Jeremy Grimm, Anthony Gonçalves and Idriss Saadi are wounded and remain in the infirmary. Stefan Mitrovic is also missing because he is suspended. Finally, Eiji Kawashima is not summoned.

Good atmosphere inside the club
Team travel too much, players can be tired
The visitors’ 2-2 draw at Bordeaux ended a streak of 14 L1 victories in a row, and also saw the least accurate PSG attack all season, with just 22.2% of their shots hitting the target – their lowest ratio this campaign.
Still, PSG haven’t lost a L1 away match since January (W11, D4 since then), and have scored three or more goals in five of their seven away outings this season. However this is historically a difficult venue for the visitors, who have won just seven of the 27 top-flight H2Hs held here (W7, D9, L11).
There’s been a goal scored from the 80th minute to full-time in six of PSG’s seven L1 away matches this season.
Both teams have scored in each of the last five competitive H2Hs at the Stade de la Meinau.
Thomas Tuchel has announced a large turnover for the meeting of PSG in Strasboug to be held this Wednesday evening and the beginnings are already visible in training. Of course, Neymar is not there since at rest after his adductor injury but he is not the only player who did not participate in the days session. In addition to Lassana Diarra, probably missing in Strasbourg because of a knee problem, Angel Di Maria was not with his teammates either. The Argentinian remained in the care on Tuesday according to the information of RMC and he also has a good chance of being left to rest tomorrow night. On the side of the good news, Thomas Meunier was however back to training, he who missed most of last week due to a death in his family. He is logically a candidate for a place in the starting lineup in Alsace. During training, he found Edinson Cavani, whose name was announced by Tuchel, and Adrien Rabiot, who was absent from the group on Saturday and Sunday because of personal problems. He too will start in Alsace.
