Hull defender Jordy De Wijs has been ruled out of Tuesday nights home game against Leeds. Dutchman De Wijs sustained an ankle injury during Saturdays home draw against Middlesbrough and is expected to miss both the visit of Leeds and next weekends game at Sheffield United.
Dan Batty (knee) is unlikely to feature after missing the last three matches and Evandro remains doubtful with a hamstring problem.
Winger Kamil Grosicki made his first start of the season at the weekend and it remains to be seen if the Poland international will keep his place.
Hull have won two of their last 12 league meetings with Leeds (D6 L4), with both victories coming in the 2012-13 season.
Four of the last five league meetings between Hull and Leeds at the KC Stadium have ended as draws, with Hull winning the other 2-0 in December 2012.
Hull have only kept one clean sheet in their last 14 league games, a 2-0 win against Ipswich in September.
Jarrod Bowen has scored three of Hulls last four goals in the Championship.
Hull are undefeated in their last 5 home matches against Leeds in all competitions.
Yorkshire derby
Local newspaper reported that Evandro will miss out, though, as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury. The Brazilian is not expected to return until after the international break.
Angus MacDonald is suffering from a calf problem
Nigel Adkins: We knew we would face three different types of opposition this week with Middlesbrough, Leeds United and then Sheffield United. Leeds are a very energetic side and the pace of the game will be completely different to what we saw at the weekend, as will the way they play the game and pass the ball around. We have to make sure that we’re ready for that from a physical point of view, but we should also be full of confidence after Saturday’s performance. We’ve played some good football this season but been punished for making mistakes. However, we’ve played some really good football in our last two home games and got two good results. The players have shown that they’re willing to compete for each other and the supporters feed off that. We want everybody in the stadium to be together – players and fans.
Leeds United
Leeds quartet Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez, Gaetano Berardi and Conor Shaughnessy are all still absent. Striker Roofe (calf), playmaker Hernandez (hamstring), defender Berardi (knee) and the versatile Shaughnessy (muscle strain) are all expected to return to contention after this months international break.
Boss Marcelo Bielsa is set to select from an unchanged squad, with no new injury problems following last weeks draw at Sheffield Wednesday. Midfielder Adam Forshaw is pushing for his first start of the season having made four substitute appearances this season following ankle trouble.
After a winless run of 11 away league games at the end of last season, Leeds are unbeaten in all five on the road so far in 2018-19 (W2 D3).
Leeds are undefeated in 9 of their last 10 matches (Championship).
Marcelo Bielsa: There is a difference between the leading teams and the other teams in the table, but you don’t see that difference when they play one another. We all know the games that we are going to play are more difficult than what the table indicates. The game we lost this season, was against a team not in the upper part of the table. For some teams you know what kind of game you will be facing, like against Millwall and Middlesbrough. You can also see this in a different style, like against Derby County or Norwich City, we knew the style and what we would face. Hull can play like Middlesbrough or Derby County, perhaps a mixture of both, this is the answer we give when we don’t know what to expect.
